Yulia Buzovkina

Yulia Buzovkina

I was born in a creative family where music is valued and esteemed. My parents’ lifetime occupation has been closely related to concert activities.

  I started singing as I was six. At my first performance venues, I was a soloist of the children’s choir at the Kyiv Children Academy of Arts (area of expertise: piano and flute) where I studied between 1997 and 2002.

  Further, I studied at the best music education institutions of Ukraine:

2002 – 2009 – Kyiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School named after M.V. Lysenko (area of expertise: piano), classes by Professor Natalia Gridneva;

2009 – 2016 – Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music; vocal faculty; area of expertise: concert singer and coach, classes by Associate Professor Hennadii Kabka and Honored Artist of Ukraine Ludmila Dovgan.

2009 – 2011 – “International House Kyiv”, English courses, level: Upper-Intermediate.

  I was getting valuable concert and performance experience, along with confidence in myself, at various national and international fests and contests, and also when studying at international opera schools and studios:

– International Forum “Musical Performance and Pedagogy”, 2011, Lonigo/Italy, Vienna/Austria – II Prize Laureate;

– IV All-Ukrainian Contest “Classic Meridian”, 2011, Ukraine/Kyiv – II Prize Laureate;

– IV International Contest-Festival of musician performers “Renaissance”, 2012, Gyumri/Armenia – II Prize Laureate;

– “Scuola Italia/Lingua e Canto” International Opera School, 9-31/07/2013, Sant’Angelo in Vado/Italy, Artistic Director – Professor Robin Fisher (USA).

– “International Opera Studio di Pesaro” International Opera Studio, 24/03-24/04/ 2014, Pesaro/Italy, Artistic Director and Opera Singing Coach – Inga Balabanova (Italy).

– “International Opera Studio di Pesaro” International Opera Studio, 1/11/2014-31/08/2015, Pesaro/Italy, Artistic Director and Opera Singing Coach – Inga Balabanova (Italy).

True blessing for me was my participation in master-classes with famous Italian maestros of opera singing – Giuseppe Sabbatini, William Matteuzzi, Alla Simoni.

In 2018-2020, I cooperated with Maya Shlyapochnik, Honored Artist of Ukraine, concert master of an opera company at the National Opera of Ukraine. Owing to our shared work, my today’s repertoire involves Lucia’s part from the tragic opera “Lucia di Lammermoor” by Gaetano Donizetti, Marguerite’s part from the opera “Faust” by Charles Gounod, Oscar’s part from the opera “Un ballo in maschera” and Violetta’s part from the opera “La Traviata” – both by Giuseppe Verdi.

My goal is to be a soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine and to cooperate with opera theaters in Europe.

Since 2016 and thus far, I am an in-house employee of Bita Music company – I provide translation services. I also teach private lessons as a vocal coach.
